Both Mary & Kevin have seen loved ones suffer from difficult skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, or have suffered from these conditions themselves. They’ve seen the benefit of not only using natural, organic skin care products, but incorporating lifestyle changes as well to treating the skin problems. Kevin’s interest in natural skincare started in the late 1990s, when he worked as a Hair & Skin Analyst. People came to him to have their hair & skin problems microscopically analysed in order to resolve various types of hair/skin conditions. What Kevin found was that many of the hair & skin samples were full of potentially damaging chemicals—chemicals found in every day skin products (such as deodorants, creams, shampoos, hair styling products etc.). This realisation prompted him to want to create his own natural, organic skin care products which are chemical free. Kevin also holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies. His love for nature further drove him to ensure the products he creates are not only beneficial to your skin, but protect the environment as well.
Mary worked in Advertising in New York City in the late 1990s. While working in this industry, she came to realise how much marketing & advertising drove sales, even if the promises made by the advertisers were ‘empty’! The skin care industry is particularly tricky—often using the word ‘natural’ to sell a product when only a tiny fraction of the ingredients are actually ‘natural’! Not only that, but Mary also discovered that quite often premium products cost premium prices due to advertising and packaging costs—not the quality of the ingredients! This eye-opening look inside a highly competitive industry drove her to want to start her own natural, organic skin care company. A company which is based on the quality of its products & genuine benefit to its customers—not a company based on advertising budgets, marketing slogans & over priced packaging.
